Let's Talk about Celine Dion's Style Rebirth

Incase you haven’t noticed, Celine Dion has been killing the fashion game of late. The “My Heart Will Go On” songstress made some surprising appearances during Paris Couture Week, including a fabulous front-row moment during the Giambattista Valli SS17 show. Dressed in a floor-length floral dress by the designer himself, Celine was spotted sitting among editors and buyers applauding the couture collection. The Nineties popstar hasn’t just been saving her stylish looks for fashion events, though. Paparazzi have caught her between tour dates, darting around in elegant outfits from Balmain and Dior.

The reason behind Dion’s new sartorial direction? She noticed the sophisticated red carpet looks on 19 year-old star Zendaya, and promptly hunted down her stylist. Enter Law Roach, stylist or “image architect” as he prefers to be called. Roach, who also dresses Ariana Grande and Ruby Rose, has orchestrated the successful style rebirth of the 48 year-old, who has been snapped wearing current zeitgeist brand Vetements. Instagram has gone wild for the image of Celine wearing their Titanic hoodie, the blockbuster film, featuring young Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, to which she sang the theme song. Another dose of irony came when the star was seen in head-to-toe Céline, the Paris Fashion house with which she shares her name.

For the past two decades the Canadian singer has been loved across the world, but never before was it down to her style choices. She may seem like an unlikely street style star in 2016, but her recent transformation has won over even more fans. The hashtag #SlaylineDion returns over 2,000 results on Instagram, all moments where Ms Dion “slays”, whether it’s rocking a mirrored mini dress on the Jimmy Fallon show or a rainbow runway look from Versace. Roach told Elle magazine that due to her new fashion press, every brand is now clamouring to dress Celine Dion. And after the huge success of Pokémon Go, Dion’s comeback only got us wondering who will be the next “millennial” return.
