Celine celebrates the newly restored “Salons D’Apparat” of the Hotel De La Marine at their Winter 2022 show, the building’s first show since its restoration. The historic 18th-century building on Place De La Concorde in Paris was originally used to present the royal collections, portraying the excellence of French decorative arts, as well as the monarchy’s power, to its visitors. Throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, balls for the coronations of both Napoleon and King Charles X were held in the “Salons D’Apparat.”

Filmed by Hedi Slimane, the show video cuts daringly between two historical settings. The second setting for Dans Paris was the Hotel National Des Invalides, located in Paris’ 7th Arrondissement. Historically used for the receptions of Heads of State during official visits in Paris, the Celine show starts in the main courtyard in the heart of the building in which Hedi Slimane revealed a brand new ephemeral architectural pavilion structure.
