Canadian author and artist Douglas Coupland is the individual behind the 5000 punchy posters that appeared overnight throughout Copenhagen. Since last week, the Danish capital has been plastered with 15 different micro manifestos, preselected by Coupland from his work “Slogans for the 21st Century”, some of which were first published in Sleek #43. The arresting and funny slogans including “I Miss My Pre-internet Brain” aim to challenge and describe the thoughts and ideals governing contemporary societies.
Coupland also chose slogans that relate to life online and offline for the CHART ART FAIR, which takes place at the end of August in Copehagen. Capitalising on the thoughts and norms we have adopted due to social networks, Couplan’s work also questions the media platforms that govern our behaviours and interactions, from Facebook to Tinder.
