The Copenhagen cool kids proving Denmark is the dark horse of fashion

Copenhagen is a dark-horse when it comes to fashion. From its impeccably dressed population of Ganni-wearing mums and Acne-clad teens, to its brimming Filofax of established designers, when it comes to style, the Danish capital gives Berlin a run for its money. Underpinned by the unofficial adage of Scandi minimalism: less is more, Copenhagen fashion oozes effortless chic, but it’s more than just clean cuts and class. As much as it borrows from minimalism, Copenhagen’s fashion consciousness also takes cues from the city’s thriving underground subcultures — from its DIY skate scene to its close-knit techno community — the Danish capital has shaped a generation of well-dressed cool kids for whom fashion is as much about individuality and self-expression as it is about following trends.

So, in the midst of the biggest event in Copenhagen’s fashion calendar, CPHFW,  photographer Søren Drastrup took to the streets in search of Denmark’s best-dressed.
