Presented at the mysterious Grand Temple of London’s Freemasons’ Lounge, Gareth Pugh’s AW16 womenswear pieces form a collection that invokes themes of power and structure. Strong shoulders create silhouettes reminiscent of power suits from the Eighties. Included in the designer’s corporate-inspired collection was a series of looks decked out in full-on Americana with star studded, Uncle Sam style prints. Maintaining the eerie mood, models donned Hannibal Lecter-esque masks while the sound of Grace Jones roaring “Corporate Cannibal” echoed through the speakers.
