As part of our #culturepersists campaign, we’re launching a podcast series where SLEEK’s Editor-in-Chief Grace Banks will speak to influential people across the arts on how culture will move forward following the coronavirus pandemic. The series will explore how creativity is impacted by the current crisis, and how culture will change in the future.
For the third episode in the series, Grace spoke with critic and curator of The New Black Vanguard: Photography between Art and Fashion, Antwaun Sargent, from his home in Brooklyn, New York. Antwaun speaks about how he is adjusting to life indoors, trying to take this moment to reflect on what sort of person he wants to be coming out of the crisis and in what ways it will impact upon art and culture.
"Artists have worked under extraordinary conditions throughout the ages, and I think they will continue to create the work that needs to be made right now."
