Denim Is Diesel: Milan FW S/S25

Throughout its brand history, Diesel has always been synonymous with denim. For its Spring/Summer runway show in Milan, the fashion house is proving again to be a master of its craft with the concept laid out right in front of everyone’s eyes. 14,800 kg of denim scraps covered the entire location of the show, transforming the space into a raw, tactile landscape that blurred the line between runway and installation. The sea of denim wasn’t just part of a visual experience, it was a statement on the beauty of waste. With circularity as a guiding principle, Diesel is committing to finding innovative ways to repurpose materials. The show not only showcased their latest collection but also laid the groundwork for future ones, as all the denim scraps will be reused.

Their innovative take on manipulating fabrics also reflected in each look on the runway. To achieve the distressed look, denim, jacquard and knit were reimagined using a double loom and were then lasered. Elements also drew on the brand’s rich history with archival bandanas being coated onto pleated fabric and then cracked open, allowing insights into the possibilities of what Diesel can do.

Layering emerged as a key stylistic narrative throughout the show, serving not just as a visual technique but as a way to unveil Diesel’s exclusive Oval D jewelry collection—an embodiment of the brand’s DNA. Each piece, from rings to the new Oval D watch and statement chains, featured the iconic D logo woven seamlessly into the design. The jewelry didn’t just accessorize; it amplified Diesel’s rebellious spirit, marking a new chapter in their narrative—bold, disruptive, and unapologetically experimental.
