The best-dressed football team in the world just got a hell of a lot better looking. It has been revealed today that Diesel will be the official “off-field” dressers of its nation’s favourite football team, AC Milan.
It’s a match made in heaven, as the edgy Italian fashion brand embodies the team’s spirit, brave attitude and will to win. Of the two Italian icons, Diesel’s founder, Renzo Rosso, says that the similarities are obvious – and states his company and AC Milan are “major Italian players”. AC Milan’s CEO, Barbara Berlusconi, makes the connection that the football club’s audience is the same age-group as the fashion label’s, concluding that is another reason (besides ethics) that the collaboration will definitely work.
A leading pioneer in denim, a serious contender in accessories and well established in the luxury market as well as in casual wear, the multi-league/cup/award winning AC Milan team are going to have to get used to wearing more than red and black for the next while.
