Dior and Ewha Woman’s University, one of Korea’s most prestigious universities and one of the world’s largest female educational institutions, share the same vision of preserving shared values, inspiring and nurturing our future leaders, empowering women to promote gender equality in the community and to create a sustainable society for all. For their Fall Winter 2022 collection, the show was held at Ewha Woman’s University for the first time, emphasising the House’s values of inclusivity, communion and sharing.

Drawing upon punk references throughout, Dior’s collection captures the relentless spirit of the youth, whose rebellious desire for freedom overrules all. Through a subversion of traditional meanings of the term “uniform” in fashion, Maria Grazia Chiuri explores her fascination with school attire and how one can personalise their uniform by incorporating distinctive details to bring a feeling of individuality. The collection is composed of pleated skirts, kilts, 3D embroidered knitwear and jackets that borrow from the man’s silhouette. Amongst these looks were also elegant evening gowns that echoed the House’s emblematic silhouettes while reinventing their history through daring asymmetrical cuts.

Striving to uphold social responsibilities, Dior is offering a supportive and comprehensive CSR program at Ewha Woman’s University. Through this initiative, students are provided with a scholarship, a Women@Dior Internship Program, Retail Management Training Program alongside masterclasses with leaders at the House. This program provides students the opportunity to understand and experience the diversity and innovation of Dior, while being able to openly express their personality and opinions openly and creativity through the platform that the House offers. As Monsieur Dior once said, “anything you do, work or pleasure, you have to do with passion. You have to live with passion.”
