Following its spectacular debut in Shanghai earlier this year, Gucci Cosmos has found its way to the vibrant heart of London, where it has set up its creative residence at the esteemed 180 Studios, 180 The Strand. This immersive experience not only pays homage to the Italian House’s remarkable global presence but also beautifully celebrates its strong ties to the UK’s capital.

A Visionary Collaboration: Es Devlin and Maria Luisa Frisa

Gucci Cosmos is the product of a visionary collaboration between two eminent figures in the world of art and fashion. The exhibition’s design is the brainchild of Es Devlin, a renowned contemporary artist hailing from Britain, while its curation is in the capable hands of Maria Luisa Frisa, a highly respected Italian fashion theorist and critic. This dynamic partnership has given birth to a playfully imaginative journey that navigates through Gucci’s illustrious past, its dynamic present, and the promising horizon of its future.

The exhibition is thoughtfully structured into a series of captivating ‘worlds,’ each of which unveils an array of treasures, many of which have remained hidden from the public eye until now. These cherished artifacts have been sourced from the Gucci Archive, an intriguing and constantly evolving repository that serves as a bustling hub for the House’s creative teams. The archive is housed within the enchanting 15th-century Palazzo Settimanni in Florence.

An Expedition Through Gucci’s Enduring Legacy

Each of these ‘worlds’ beckons you to delve into a distinct facet of the Gucci brand. As you traverse through the immersive exhibit, you’ll trace the unyielding principles that have shaped Gucci since its inception in 1921. The journey unfolds through the lens of Guccio Gucci, the founder who dared to dream, and the pioneering spirits of his sons, Aldo and Rodolfo. It also pays homage to the remarkable legacy left by recent creative directors, including the visionary reigns of Tom Ford, Frida Giannini, Alessandro Michele, and the contemporary touch of Sabato De Sarno.
