It is often said that twins share a bond like no other. For models and twins Maria and Alexandra, this bond is simply part of how they experience the world. ‘We feel that one’s heartbeat is aligned with the other’s,’ they say. ‘Not only do we want the same things, but we’re thinking the same things and will always sing the same song in our heads at the exact same time. When one of us cries, the other one starts to cry immediately – even if nothing is wrong. We are each other’s biggest supporters and best friends in all joys and all hardships. We’ve never looked at each other competitively as the love we have for each other is incomparable.’

Maria and Alexandra simply cannot imagine themselves without the other – in fact, they struggle to be apart for more than 24 hours. Describing their bond as ‘unique, strong, powerful, unbreakable and resilient’, they share how they do everything together. From early morning swims and baking (where nothing is off limits: bread and sweet brioche, French cakes and desserts, mousse cakes, you name it, they’ll bake it) to completing their scholarship-funded MBA Luxury Fashion degrees in Paris together – and of course, modelling. ‘A unique memory that we will cherish forever is our exclusive debut show for GUCCI SS23 Twinsburg in Milan and also the GUCCI SS23 campaign! To be able to experience these amazing events is something unique which we will never forget. We’d always dreamt that we would make our debut together!’
