Feel the breeze: A Getaway to Usedom

Last weekend, SLEEK travelled to the Island of Usedom in the tranquility of the Baltic Sea where the breeze Hotel in Ahlbeck/Heringsdorf welcomed us and our guests for two days of dinner, bike tours and yoga classes.

Located between the northeastern part of Germany and the northwestern part of Poland, Usedom is a radiant gem nestled in the embrace of the Baltic Sea. With its tranquil beaches of soft, golden sands stretching as far as the eye can see, it is a place where the sea’s gentle caresses paint the shores with whispers of salt and dreams. It is an island where beauty unfolds in every direction, offering a timeless journey through the heart of Europe’s coastal treasures. A place where the soul finds solace in the delicate poetry of the land and sea. In between the breeze, a warm hotel that invites us to finally slow down.

As you wander through the quaint villages and charming towns, time itself seems to slow down. The architecture, especially in the Kaiserbäder, is a living testament to history, exuding an air of grandeur and nostalgia. Stately villas, adorned with intricate details, stand as sentinels of a bygone era when European aristocrats sought solace and rejuvenation on these shores.

A retreat that combines the comfort of a hotel with the privacy, the breeze is situated within a beach-exposed location with entirely unrestricted sea views.  The fragrance of the Botanical Garden weaves a tapestry of scents into the hotel, where you can lose yourself in a lush paradise, surrounded by vibrant and exotic blooms. To top off a relaxed day, the 639 – THE VELA SPA balances emotions and lifts the mood. A holistic wellness concept that focuses on mindfulness and balance with individually tailored programmes and treatments, in a total area of 1,250 square metres.

After a day of bike rides and yoga classes, our guests – race driver Laure-Marie Geissler, artist Charlie Stein such as Annabelle Mandeng, Svenja Jung, Cevin Parker, Annabella Zetsch, Sebastiano Schweizer, to name a few – gathered to share an intimate dinner together at the BRACA restaurant. Chef Felix Pirwitz relies on local suppliers, seasonal products, Nordic-Baltic influences and traditional techniques such as smoking, pickling or lactic acid fermentation. Over the dinner table, we were able to share one final moment together filled with stories and laughter before once again returning to reality.
