Jackson Wang is the name you need to know. The Hong Kong-born Olympic fencer turned K-Pop superstar can now add Fendi ambassador to his prestigious repertoire—on 20 July Fendi x Jackson Wang capsule collection launched in 33 Fendi stores worldwide as well as online. Under guidance from the Italian fashion house’s creative director Siliva Venturini Fendi, the collaboration marries the rapper’s street style-cool with the brand’s elegant DNA, casting Fendi’s signature logo and silhouettes in sumptuous black velvet and chenille. Comprising a formal suit, tracksuit, and several accessories including the maison’s newest debut, it’s iconic Baguette bag revamped for men, the collection offers a sophisticated update on street wear. And to lend an exclusive touch, each piece bears a “FENDI Team Wang” logo.
To celebrate the launch of the new collection, Fendi have released a cooly stylish campaign video, which sees Wang dripping in Fendi logos, skateboarding around town decked out in pieces from the collection and preventing the flu in possibly the chicest way — with an “FF” embroidered surgical mask.
And if that’s not enough , Hong Kong-based artist Oscar Wang has installed a 3 meter tall panda in Chengdu, China peppered in Fendi’s “FF” logo and sporting the baguette bag from the collection. Encased in a glass box featuring a sentence beginning with “F IS FOR…” and completed by “FUN,” “FRIENDS,” “FUNK,” and other such “F” words, the adorable black and white bear is named Fendidi (which translates to “Fendi’s little brother” in Chinese).
