An exciting new chapter is about to begin at Salvatore Ferragamo. The timeless Italian fashion house, founded in 1972, has appointed Maximilian Davis as the new Creative Director.
Born in Manchester, Maximilian Davis is a young designer who interweaves his rich Trinidadian-Jamaican cultural heritage into his designs, paying homage to an integral part of his identity.
Through reworking historical references, Davis demonstrates the beauty of combining formal refinement together with an expressive sensuality. He is inspired by Ferragamo’s “dedication to a timeless elegance and sophistication”, and is thrilled to be able to elevate his vision through “the codes of Italian craftsmanship, quality and innovation.”
In the words of Marco Gobbetti, CEO of Salvatore Ferragamo, “[Davis’] work is defined by elegance, refined sensuality, and his constant commitment to quality. Through his lens of contemporary sensibility, he will write a new, exciting chapter for this house, built on a heritage of creativity, craftsmanship, sophistication and outstanding human values.”
