“Independence means everything. Freedom to create, express and be.” This is the ethos behind Amsterdam-based footwear label Filling Pieces‘ latest AW16 collection entitled “Srefidensi // Independence”. The brand’s decision to adopt a motif centred around freedom was not unplanned. Rather, it serves as a uninhibited expression of creativity. Filling Pieces succeeds in its mission, presenting a daring collection made up of 14 new silhouettes this season.
To promote this season’s progressive styles, the brand has released a lookbook shot by Lotte van Raalte as well as a featurette by Luke Smits.
Shot in the solitary beauty of Iceland, impressive volcanic formations and arctic desolation set a moody scene. Highlights from the collection include the deconstructed “Low Top” in cane white as well as the thick-soled “Mountain Cut”. Available for purchase now, “Srefidensi // Independence” marks a new chapter for Filling Pieces – one in which they call all the shots.
