Navigating the world of modern dating is no easy feat—especially online. But Disaster Girl refuses to let fate dictate her story. Set against the backdrop of a villa, the film opens with Nell sitting in her car, reflecting on a prophecy that lays bare her struggles and failures. But rather than resigning herself to her past, Disaster Girl emerges as a force of self-reclamation. This is a story about the highs and lows of life, defying societal expectations, and forging success on one’s own terms.

As a new approach to financing an indie film production, Disaster Girl transformed the SLEEK Art Space into an immersive experience high above the city skyline. The highlight of the night was a live auction, where movie relics served as both collectible treasures and tangible connections to the film. The exhibition, curated by Disaster Girl director Fabia Mendoza and Celyn Nicholson, showcased these unique pieces before they went under the hammer.
Proceeds from the auction will go toward completing the film that won the Christian-Köster-Förderpreis, with Nell Pietrzyk in the lead role. To fully immerse guests in the cinematic world, cinematographer Philipp Meise designed the event space, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening. As the night unfolded, a DJ set took over, keeping the celebration alive well into the early hours.

The crowd was a mix of creatives, thinkers, and friend and family, all engaging in dialogues as dynamic as the film itself. Flowing freely throughout the night were Scavi & Ray Prosecco, its bubbles were the ultimate companion to the evening. Sourced from the vineyards surrounding Venice, the Prosecco was not only a drink but a treat of highest quality. For those who preferred hops over grapes, Vagabund provided a selection of craft beers, each as nuanced as the discussions unfolding around them. From crisp Pilsners to bold IPAs, every sip told a story.

With the right mix of film, music, art, and indulgence, the Disaster Girl premiere was a night to remember—proof that success, like the best parties, is something you create on your own terms.
