5 facetious Insta accounts that are actually really funny

In a world of infinite scrolling possibility, so-called content creators are at on a constant quest for hashtag relatable content. It’s a dog-eat-dog world out there, and social media is rife with mediocre content that barely warrants a first, let alone second, glance. We all know it’s embarrassing to have a followship less than your following, so every account has to matter, and it’s tough to find the ones that stand out from the crowd, so here at team SLEEK, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite funny accounts to make sure that even if your life’s not a laugh a minute, your virtual existence at least provides some comic relief.

1. RAVEN SMITH

The uncrowned King of pithy captions, creative director-cum-Vogue columnist Raven Smith dishes out his own brand of despairingly dry humour on the daily. Providing witty caps-lock commentary that’s always savage (and mostly sass), the London-based writer’s feed screams ‘relatable’, from freelancer qualms to the finessed selfie-lighting from his fridge. Follow @raven__smith for more.

2. JACQUEMUS

Everyone’s favourite French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus is so endearingly FULL OF JOY! AND EXCLAMATION! and hopelessly French, that he’s become the subject of many a meme. Desperately uncool and equally uncontrived, there’s something so beautifully charming about Porte’s pics and capitalised captions. His bio reads “JE M’APPELLE SIMON, J’AIME LE BLEU ET LE BLANC, LES RAYURES, LE SOLEIL, LES FRUITS, LES RONDS, LA VIE, LA POÉSIE, MARSEILLE ET LES ANNÉES 80.” You get the picture. 3. MICHEL GAUBERT

Music connoisseur Michel Gaubert is a man of many memes. From tacky ’90s fashion to the trials and tribulations of everyday existential crisis, the French fashion guru’s account is brimming with enough flamboyant photos and fierce film stills to brighten your scroll and prove that memes can come true. Freddie Made

Some would call the act of plastering the queen’s face on a Balenciaga campaign blasphemy. Freddie Made doesn’t care. Co-opting celebrity mugs for his own twisted fashion marketing, Made’s memes take pop-culture royalty (as well as her majesty) and drop them in a streetwear scene. The results can only be described as punny (sorry not sorry). Follow @freddiemade for more.

Poundland Bandit

Last but not least is the British bandit known for honing in the nuances of every UK niche, from the art wankers to the fuckboys to the streetwear snobs. His feed is a haven of spot-on starterpacks (some of which are a bit too close to the bone) that expose our desperately unoriginal existence in all their try-hardity.  Follow @poundlandbandit for more.
