Get Ready With Tsellot and her Mother for Summer

In a city that never sleeps, the creative scene is also looking for moments of peace and relaxation from time to time. Tsellot, a multidisciplinary artist an integral part of Berlin’s creative community, tells us what’s coming up for her in summer 2025. This time, it’s all about quality time with someone very special: her mother.

During a special “Get Ready With Me” day, Tsellot and her mother invite us into their shared pre summer rituals. It’s a celebration of balance, mindfulness, creative expression and above all it’s a celebration of their unique bond.

Their plan for the day: A foot reflexology massage at the Soulhouse Berlin Spa, a stop at her favorite health bar Sunu and a yoga session in the park, a relaxed start to an exciting summer and a beautiful reminder of the power of spending time with the ones who know us best.

In our interview, Tsellot opens up about what summer in Berlin means to her, why conscious movement is part of her creative practice and why comfort never has to be a compromise for her.

SLEEK: Tsellot, for everyone who doesn’t know you yet: how would you describe yourself in three words?

Tsellot: Curious, energetic, soft.

S: What does a summer day in Berlin feel like to you?

T: Like too much sun, not enough water – and still, you don’t want to go home, because something’s always happening. Some park, some drink, some conversation that sticks with you.

S: The FLORIDA by Birkenstock has a story – first introduced in 1981, now reinterpreted. Are there things in your life that you’ve rediscovered or reinterpreted?

T: For sure. Dating, for example. I used to think I had to perform – now I give myself permission to be a little cringe, open, and just me. And it feels way better than before.

S: You’re always on the go – how important is it for you to have shoes that are both comfortable and stylish?

T: As important as my headphones. If the shoes aren’t working, the whole vibe is off. I walk so much around the city – they need to be cozy, but please, with style.

S: What are you currently working on? Is there a topic that’s really occupying or inspiring you right now?

T: I’m deep into research on the Arctic – what’s happening there with the climate, but also culturally, is so underrepresented. I’m especially interested in the stories of communities that get almost no visibility, even though they’re on the front lines. I want to find out: who’s being listened to – and who’s invisible, even though they have the most to say?

S: Is there a corner of Berlin that feels especially special to you in summer? Maybe a place where you go to recharge or find inspiration?

T: Probably Görli at sunset. I know, cliché – but the sound, the people, the chaos… it makes me feel awake. And somehow free.

S: Your looks always seem effortless but also intentional – how would you describe your personal summer style?

T: 90s meets corner shop. A lot of secondhand, a bit tomboy, a bit sexy. Always ready for surprises – you never know, today might get wild haha.

S: When you walk through Berlin – how does the city inspire your next project, outfit, or thought experiment?

T: Berlin throws a thousand impulses at me every day. A sticker on a traffic light. A conversation in the corner store. Someone dancing weirdly in the park. It all ends up in my projects – or at least in the notes app on my phone.

S: Tsellot, when you think of summer – what’s the first image that pops into your head?

T: Cold spritzer, a fan in one hand, and someone shouting, “Let’s make one more stop!”

S: And finally: what’s coming up for you this summer – anything you’re especially looking forward to?

T: I want to really be there. Not constantly thinking, “What’s next?” but “What’s happening right now?” Less rushing, more feeling. I want to walk slowly through the streets, drink ice-cold things, talk to people without checking the time. And I want summer not to just pass by – but to stay with me, a little longer.

S: Where do your feet take you when you need a moment of escape?

T: To the mountains, always. Everything’s clearer up there – the air, my thoughts. When Berlin gets too loud, I need rocks under my feet and a wide view in front of me. Just stand there, breathe, hear nothing but wind – that’s my reset button.

S: What’s your favorite way to wander through a new place – solo, guided, or just lost in the moment?

T: Definitely lost & loving it. No plan, no Google Maps, just go with the flow – best with music in my ears and eyes wide open. I need the chaos to find new ideas.

S: What’s a place you stumbled into by chance – and never wanted to leave?

T: Calle Cerra in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I just meant to walk through quickly and ended up staying for hours – galleries, little shops, people just talking to each other in the street… it felt like a hidden home.

S: Do you prefer to plan your routes or let your curiosity lead the way?

T: Plan? What’s that? I go with my gut. If a street looks cool, I go down it. If a sound seems interesting, I follow it. My compass is curiosity – and sometimes my stomach.
