Worrying about who you will be your Valentine this year? Fear not, for Gucci is bringing us all the love we need in the form of a limited edition zine. The Italian fashion house has collaborated with Los Angeles based visual artist Ariana Papademetropoulos to create “A LOVE STORY PRESENTED BY GUCCI” – a (rather fashionable) fairytale of love, heartbreak and everything in between; all of which are effortlessly intertwined with Gucci’s Valentine’s Day 2022 Collection, envisioned by Creative Director Alessando Michele.

Brought to life by the dreamy, ethereal quality of Papademetropoulos’ work, the zine follows the love story between a fairy and a giant. After the giant almost accidentally steps on the fairy, the two lovers realise that perhaps they are not meant to be. The fairy, played by Ariana herself, chooses to leave the giant in hopes to find someone her own size. Despite her efforts, the love struck fairy is unhappy in The Land of Tiny Creatures, as she begins to yearn once again for the giant. With the help of a fairy godmother, the fairy is brought right back to the giant, as though they were never apart. Gucci offers us an allegorical story about the power of love; a force that knows no bounds, a force that conquers all.

And most importantly, what is love without Gucci? In the background of the romantic narrative, Gucci is showcasing their Valentine’s Day 2022 collection. Bursting with the sweet feeling of love, the collection sees newly designed geometrical and heart-shaped chain bags along with new Ace sneakers that bring the GG monogram together with the “LOVE” motif. Perhaps your Valentine this year is a piece from Gucci’s new collection; a love that will certainly live happily ever after.
