Guillaume Bottazzi to Paint Mural in a Brussels Square

Guillaume Bottazzi at Place Jourdan

This autumn, one of the most charming square in the city of Brussels will be transformed by Guillaume Bottazzi, who for a month and half will be painting alone — on-site — a mural of monumental proportions. The 16-meter tall and 7-meter wide artwork will be located at Place Jourdan, and with such incredible proportions and is set to become another very Belgian landmark. The public will have the chance to experience the painting’s progress alongside Bottazzi, and once it’s finished it’ll become a permanent public art piece. The decision to place such a colossal painting in the square forms part of a project by the Federal State and the Brussels-Capital Region, which will compete for attention with the large-scale sculpture from a chippy in the same square.
In addition, from 3 until 29 October, the public will have an opportunity to view Bottazzi’s exhibition at Brussels’ Artiscope Gallery.
Guillaume Bottazzi will be painting at Place Jourdan from October until mid-November
