There’s a school of thinking that advises against bold hair statements on the runway, as the focus should be on the clothes —we’re not in that school. While Paris had some head-turning ensembles sashaying down the runway during the 10-day fashion week, our eyes kept getting pulled a little bit higher to the avant garde coifs. We took the liberty of rounding up some of our personal favourites:
Drag Show ready at Manish Arora

The Indian designer stacked his line-up with the whos-who of visually stunning drag artists, from the psychedelic Rorschach face of Berlin’s Hungry to the snatched and glamorous Miss Fame and her season seven Drag Race sister Violet Chachki. From bejewelled blonde hair horns on Klaus wieKind to whatever is going on with Ryan Burke‘s head, we’re here for it.
Edgy Doctor Seuss at Ottolinger

While the German design duo played with deconstruction for the SS20 line, the hair was pressed to perfection. Gravity-defying curls and waves, clipped into place with colourful barrettes were giving us an edgy version of Doctor Suess’ Whoville.
’60s Sunday best at Anton Belinskiy

The hair was high on Anton Belinskiy’s catwalk and it definitely brought us closer to god. 60s-style bouffants were teased to the heavens, giving us major church lady vibes—and just to spice it up—strategic clip-in bangs were added.
Headgear of all kinds at Margiela

OK, so the actual hairstyles of the models John Galliano sent down the runway at Margiela weren’t groundbreaking, but those hats. Between the veiled habits, sailor hats and literal football helmets, we have pretty much have a solution for every bad hair day.
