Highsnobiety on creating their own €20,000 fashion award

Heads-up, budding designers, fashionistas, and creatives in Berlin: You could have what it takes to win the first-ever BERLIN, BERLIN prize awarded by Highsnobiety.

Designed to promote emerging designers based in the hometown of the popular lifestyle brand, the €20,000 prize will go to an individual who demonstrates remarkable talent and vision in design, fashion and other creative fields, but perhaps has not had the opportunities or access to maximize their potential. In addition to receiving the cash award, the lucky winner will have the chance to sell their own products with Highsnobiety’s online shop.

The BERLIN, BERLIN Prize is in partnership with the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises. The winner will be chosen by a panel of well-known names across the fashion, design, and creative industries.

Anyone who is over 18 years old and based in Berlin is encouraged to apply via the online application by Sunday, 22 August.

Since its founding in 2005, Highsnobiety has been dedicated to advocating and promoting the work of emerging designers, helping to create a new generation of creators in Germany’s capital while fostering a spirit of innovation and disruption. As such, the winner of the BERLIN, BERLIN prize will be an extension of those ideals: one whose work pushes boundaries, reexamines norms and, of course, shakes things up a little.

The award comes as a natural progression of Highsnobiety’s BERLIN-BERLIN project, which was held completely virtual in 2020 in honor of Berlin’s growing designers and brands.
