In less than a year of existence, VEERT has established itself to be a luxury stylist favourite, a high-end editorial mainstay and a constant accessory of celebrities like ASAP Rocky, Pharell or Alicia Keys. Selling out on their first two collections, the New York-based unisex jewellery line is back with its third. Consisting of harmonic designs using freshwater pearls and green gemstones that deliver both refined luxury and inimitable edge, Collection 3 is inspired by nature, love and more interestingly – numerology.
To find out more about how numerology came into play, we spoke to VEERT Founder, Julia Lang.
I was intrigued by how the collection was inspired by numerology, particularly, as there seems to be a growing interest in pseudoscientific beliefs in recent times. Can you tell us how numerology inspired the new collection?
Numerology has always played a major part in my life ethos. It’s only natural that an authentic reflection of my being emerged as an inspiration for Collection 3. More specifically, “333” is a number that’s been intertwined with my existence for as long as I can remember. On an even deeper level, I was born with the life-path number “9” which is of course the mathematical summation of 333.
333 represents healing, light, guidance, unity, love and god. These are all integral elements of my persona that I want to share with the VEERT community.
There is a strong emphasis on the jewellery being genderless. Why is it important for you to “remove the concept of gender”?
We don’t just want to birth another product. We want to be the catalyst of empowerment, healing energy, and unity. Traditional gender separation won’t exist within our products and collections. We truly believe that VEERT is meant to bring us all together. All ages, ethnicities, geographic areas, and gender identities, all tied together by an undeniable longing for tastefulness and positive self-expression.
How did freshwater pearls and green gemstones become the VEERT signature?
VEERT is a play on the French word “vert” (a translation of the colour “green”). Naturally, the colour green is essential in our design process. Collection 1-3 all showcased a combination of freshwater pearls and/or green gemstones. That being said, we might incorporate completely different materials in our future collections. The experience can and will be ever-changing.
