For the fashion obsessed, September means only one thing: a fresh set of magazines hot off the press. The September issue marks an important time of year for the fashion industry, with new collections finally hitting stores and autumn’s arrival signalling a sense of regeneration in the industry. As we impatiently await the arrival of this year’s September issues, here’s a roundup of our favourite indie fashion magazines that print has to offer.
DANSK AW16
DANSK
A Copenhagen-based publication that began in 2002, DANSK aims to differentiate itself from other fashion magazines with its uniquely Nordic perspective. Fans of SLEEK can look forward to reading pieces from DANSK’s editor Jeppe Ugelvig, who is a regular contributor at our magazine.

AnOther and AnOther Man
Originally a single magazine published twice yearly, AnOther branched out to create AnOther Man in 2005 as a way to fully capture the menswear audience. Both publications are notable for their impressive cover stars, with Rihanna, Nicole Kidman and Tom Waits all gracing the magazine’s past issues.
Riposte issue #6
Riposte
Each issue of Riposte follows the same basic recipe, taking five insanely successful women and giving them a topic to discuss at length. Among the five thought leaders in the magazine’s most recent release is Claire Barrow, a London-based designer who was also featured as One to Watch for SLEEK’s 50th issue.
Metal SS16
Metal
Merging high-fashion with contemporary art, METAL is a bi-annual that hails from Barcelona. The magazine has become popular for its visually stunning and artistically driven fashion editorials.
Teeth SS16
Teeth
Published twice a year, Teeth strives to cover all aspects of fashion, art, music and culture. The magazine’s SS16 cover was shot by Daisy Walker, a London-based photographer whose work can be seen in a SLEEK exclusive fashion editorial entitled “Climbing Up the Walls“.

Fantastic Man and The Gentlewoman
Fantastic Man rose to fame for its intellectual approach to male celebrity, resulting in the creation of its female-focused magazine the Gentlewoman. Past cover stars include Ewan McGregor and none other than Beyonce, the Queen Bee herself.
BOYO
BOYO
Think of BOYO as the grown-up version of your favourite middle school art project, with each issue providing beautiful collages of gorgeous men. Fans of the magazine include Adidas, Missoni and Acne, who have all commissioned BOYO creator Patrick Waugh to create similar visuals for their own ad campaigns.
Marfa Journal issue #5
Marfa Journal
Inspired by a small town in Texas, Marfa Journal began as a Central Saint Martins graduation project but grew into an art world sensation. With multiple covers shot for every issue, we can’t help but feel the need to collect each and every one.
