Claudia Klein is an emerging artist based between Zurich and Berlin. Specialising in photography, she is known for her direct yet playful portrayal of the female body, but also for her more serious undertones when photographing women.
Often concentrating on the uncertainty of boundaries between sex and eroticism, a reoccurring theme in Klein’s work is female body consciousness. Through highlighting female distinctive characteristics she hopes to empower women and undermine the male gaze. Klein positions her subjects and set pieces in an almost provocative manner in order to get this point across, offering a “voyeuristic glimpse into the human nature of the hidden and absurd”. With images appearing in magazines including Zeit Magazine, L’officiel hommes and, of course, SLEEK, we are more than pleased to represent her on SLEEK art.
