Introducing SLEEK Art Space

A white cube in the middle of Alexanderplatz; a city view; an exhibition opening – overlooking the Berlin skyline, guests will experience carefully curated artworks in a minimalist setting that merges architecture with art. SLEEK embarks on a new chapter and opens its doors for a new era. The SLEEK office space will be transformed into a dynamic art gallery, regularly showcasing the SLEEK Art Space, which brings together all facets of creativity. Featuring prominent international contemporary artists, this ongoing series will debut during Berlin Art Week with two carefully curated artists. This endeavour underscores SLEEK’s commitment to being at the vanguard of the art world, offering a platform for innovative and boundary-pushing artistic expression in the heart of Berlin.

Antony Valerian
Antony Valerian is a Hamburg-born contemporary artist who lives and works between Berlin and Mexico City. He is celebrated for his innovative use of oil painting on different painting surfaces and his exploration of themes like identity and cultural heritage. Valerian’s paintings unfold like visual disturbances, where individual elements merge and separate into different layers of colour, form, and composition, creating a dynamic interplay that changes depending on the viewer’s distance and angle. His approach to painting is grounded in problem-solving, resulting in unconventional perspectives, innovative textures, and unexpected uses of colour.

When Antony Valerian paints, it is as if he is working behind a transparent veil. All familiar elements of a portrait – the pose, the face, the clothing – are present but never fully defined. Observing his work is reminiscent of a dream in which, if you get too close, the background pushes forwards and obscures the view. Thus, we are compelled to keep our distance and rely on what we already know. Valerian’s paintings have been exhibited in galleries around the world. His unique style and thought-provoking pieces have earned him critical acclaim and a dedicated following.

Jonathan Monaghan
Jonathan Monaghan is an American contemporary artist known for his unique union of 3D animation and digital printmaking. Born in 1986, Monaghan explores themes of consumerism, technology, and the intersection of reality and the virtual world. His surreal, highly detailed works often draw from baroque architecture and science fiction. They primarily explore themes of power, identity, and the impact of technology on society. Monaghan’s attention to detail and techniques have garnered him significant recognition in the art world. His pieces have been exhibited in major institutions such as the Smithsonian, and his unique approach continues to challenge and expand the boundaries of contemporary art.
