Møn, an idyllic island just off the southeastern coast of Denmark in the Baltic Sea, is the perfect place for a retreat. In this exclusive fashion story for SLEEK, Danish photographer, Cecilie Lindegaard photographed model Hannah Strøbek in a small country farmhouse on the island, known for its white sandy beaches and majestic cliffs. The lively images depict Hannah relishing in the slow pace of life in Møn — which according to the photographer, she had been “dreaming of since she was a kid.”
For Lindegaard, the story reflects a common interest among her friends of wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of city living. “I have many friends, particularly creatives, who live in the city still and really want to move to the countryside,” she explains. “In the city, it is hard to find those small spaces of stillness and quiet and many people crave the peace that nature offers.” In this story, which includes a combination of vintage pieces and luxury brands including Balenciaga, Maryam Nassir Zadeh and Dries Van Noten, Lindegaard captures the spontaneity and childlike curiosity of country-living. It is a subject that is close to her heart: “I moved from Paris to the countryside in Denmark myself, which was an amazing shift for me. I find that eventually I don’t need more than this. If I have nature, I got everything. But it’s definitely something you need to be ready for.”
