At this year’s British Fashion Council Fashion Awards 2016, in partnership with Swarovski, a new award entitled the Swarovski Fashion Award For Positive Change will be given to Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Italia and L’Uomo Vogue, Franca Sozzani.
The fashion icon will receive the price honouring her tireless fundraising’s for both local and international charities, for her commitment to her role as Global Ambassador Against Hunger for the United Nations World Food Programme and for her work with Convivio and the European Institute of Oncology, in the fight for prevention of AIDS and oncological diseases.
“Words cannot express the huge deal of admiration and respect I have for Franca and her work. She exemplifies those qualities this award has been created to honor, and her tireless commitment to the causes she cares so passionately about is a great example to us all. The positive impact she has had on the fashion and global communities will be felt for generations to come.” Says Chairman of the British Fashion Council, Dame Natalie Massenet.
As well as celebrating and honoring the talents of the industry, The Fashion Awards 2016 benefits as a fundraiser gala for the British Fashion Council Education Foundation charity.
