30 Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto is set to play Andy Warhol in an upcoming film about the artist’s life. Based on a biography written by Victor Bockris, the author will also co-produce the film alongside Terence Winter from “The Wolf of Wall Street”.
An Oscar-winning actor, Leto is no stranger to biopics. One of the actor’s first acclaimed roles saw him as Olympic athlete Steve Prefontaine. Another example, 2007’s “Chapter 27”, reimagined Leto as John Lennon’s assassin Mark David Chapman. A reported method actor, Leto is said to completely immerse himself in each character. This dedication will come in handy as he takes on one of the most famous artists of all time.
The film is expected to explore every aspect of Andy Warhol’s life. From his early beginnings in Pennsylvania to his brush with death in the Sixties, this story about the “Pope of Pop Art” is one that is surely not to be missed.
