When it comes to collaborators, Jean Paul Gaultier knows best and this time around, the French designer called upon stylist Lotta Volkova. Throughout Volkova’s career, she has worked with some of the industry’s biggest names, from the early success of Vetements to styling Miu Miu’s iconic Fall/Winter 2022 show. Now, her latest venture has found her designing a capsule collection with the French designer, and the collection most certainly delivered.

Finding inspiration in the JPG archives, Volkova re-imagines corseted lingerie, seductive tailoring and dresses printed with a naked female body, a nod to Gaultier’s jacquard “naked dress” from 2004. The stylist also revamps the velvet cone dress, originally unveiled in 1984, into a blush pink mini-dress and bustier, updating the iconic design for 2022. Perhaps the collection’s most outrageously seductive design is the bottomless skirt suit, featuring cut-out breasts – a homage to Jean Paul Gaultier’s playful exploration of all things sex.
