Joseph AW17

This season Louise Trotter, Creative Director of JOSEPH, focused on masculine and feminine signatures. The shirt-heavy collection featured extra prominent pointed collars and slouchy tailoring as well as floral velvets and draped silk dresses. The contrasts in the collection didn’t end at masculine verses feminine – coats made up of nostalgic tapestry fabric were followed by contemporary, gleaming PVC, juxtaposing old and new materials.

The colour palette was also varied. Looks consisting of mixed neutrals tones of cream, navy and olive green were interrupted with bold fuchsia, blue and burgundy ensembles. The cast was a stream of the fashion industry’s favourite faces, including Alanna Arrington and Balenciaga muse Jane Moseley.

Just like the models, the generous proportions of the clothing felt very relevant and we left the show feeling the need to up our outwear game next season.
