Introducing Julia Pelzer

"Robe" by Julia Pelzer “Robe” by Julia Pelzer

Julia Pelzer soared to the top of Germany’s creative scene quickly after finishing university at Hamburger Kunstschule. After a wildly popular commission from German Vogue, Pelzer became a must-have among a number of fashion and lifestyle publications. With big names such as the Sunday Telegraph, So Chic and Departures Magazine eager to showcase her work, Pelzer’s illustrations became even more coveted, leading to further collaborations with impressive names such as Veuve Clicquot, Swarovski, Burberry and Max Mara.
Utilising soft brushstrokes and subtle shading, Pelzer’s illustrations are meticulously stylised to focus on beautifully feminine and minimal design. Influenced by oriental studies and calligraphy, the artist uses handcrafted paper to draw her unique works, and often includes flowing typography. Her commitment towards handcrafted creativity is refreshing to see in a world where digitally manipulated art is commonplace.
