Kate Bellm‘s photos are an ode to the carefree, sunny days of youth. Her unmistakable nu-hippie aesthetic, which she herself describes as “colour, freedom, nature and nudes”, has given her the chance to shoot for a number of prestigious brands and publications such as Kaviar Gauche, Kitsune, L’officiel and Vogue UK. The British photographer loves to use her friends and sisters as models for her pictures, encapturing the natural beauty of the women that surround her.
Bellm often experiments with analogue ways of enhancing and altering her pictures, pairing them with sketches, drawing and texts or applying them to canvases in unconventional ways. For Sleek Art, she has bedazzled and coloured the frames of a series of polaroids featuring palm trees, cactuses and gorgeous modern-day flower children. By variating between different kinds of films and choosing the ones that perfectly convey the mood of each photograph, she uses the analogue medium to its full potential.
