One such initiative, strongly identifying with the heritage of L’OCCITANE is their work with the Lavender Endowment Fund in Provence. Making a change in the global lavender supply chain as well as supporting sustainable sourcing is integral, as lavender is integral to the DNA of L’OCCITANE; it has always been a value of the company to maintain the local lands and ensure ethical work for those who cultivate them. Their conservation efforts center around the concept of innovating new agroecology methods in lavender cultivation. Starting with their roots in Provence, L’OCCITANE hones in on issues that have a global impact and are relevant within the beauty industry, leading the way as real change-makers.
Provence has acted as a home to L’OCCITANE, who strives to ensure that generations to come will maintain the ability to view breathtaking fields of lavender; these facets are integral to the people of Provence’s identity. Inspired by this heritage and seven years of research done on local lavender species, L’OCCITANE is launching the Lavande Blanche fragrance line. Using two new varieties of lavender, the line represents an ongoing commitment to the preservation of biodiversity and support of producers.
