LOEWE's Morning After Perfume

LOEWE is launching their first collection of his and hers perfume ‘oo1’ under the creative direction of Jonathan Anderson. The scents were formulated to interpret the intimacy and uncertainty associated with the early hours of the first morning after. The ‘woman’ blends tangerine and bergamot and sandalwood with hints of jasmine and vanilla whilst the ‘Man’ combines the same top and core notes with muskier and cedar undertones. Together, sharing three ingredients together, the coupled fragrance become a union that underlines the fact that they are made for each other – and share a signature that confers the fragrances with a soft, powdery and comforting feel.

LOEWE has always had a strong rooted association with art, in its connections and in its creations. For 001, Anderson was inspired by German photographer Karl Blossfeldt (1895 – 1932), whose botanical images were also adapted as prints in LOEWE’s SS16 Womenswear collection, to create the photographic artwork for the packaging. Blossfeldt was fascinated by his observations of nature, and his botanical imagery became unlike anything ever achieved before in botanical photography, as his images manipulate the forms of the plants and instead they attained a sculptural quality. This partnership of Blossfeldt’s imagery and the oo1 perfume represents the intrinsic relation between Loewe and art – the past, present and future –  and the honest combination of art, science and artistan skill.
