Louis Vuitton X Jeff Koons

Louis Vuitton has unveiled a brand new line of handbags designed by contemporary artist Jeff Koons. The collaboration sees New York-based Koons take imagery from his ‘Gazing Ball’ paintings – reproductions of works by Old Masters, and use them as prints on a range of bags. The often controversial artist has also added his own initials to each bag in the style of the LV logo. Never one to be fond of subtlety, Koons also emblazoned each bag with the name of the original artist in chunky gold lettering.
The pioneering artist, known for his giant balloon dog sculptures among other iconic works, is not the first high-profile art collaborator for the French fashion house. Takashi Murakami, Stephen Sprouse and Cindy Sherman are among the previous art collaborators for Louis Vuitton. The collection will be available from April 28th 2017. Check out the interview with Jeff Koons about the project here.
