For its latest collection, Berlin-based eyewear label Lunettes Kollektion has joined forces with Antwerp’s most innovative fashion brand Capara to create a line of eyewear that merges high-tech performance with handmade quality.
Known for its masterful re-imagination of iconic style, Lunettes Kollektion never disappoints on delivering classics with a twist. This time is no different, with frames that feature a combination of 3D-printed design and artisanal detailing. Adding to the mix are Vera and Olivera Capara, the sisterly duo behind the eponymous label, who both injected Capara’s eye-catching design into the collection. Each minimalist look abandons traditional screwed-in rims for seriously seamless shades. The eyewear has been released in tandem with Capara’s SS17 womenswear collection entitled “Freefall”. In a joint lookbook for both collections, each mismatched shape from Lunettes Kollektion has been paired with one of Capara’s elegant garments for a perfectly balanced contrast in design. Of the collaboration, Lunettes Kollektion founder Uta Geyer says, “Capara has taken our latest collection in an exciting direction, by conceptualising eyewear into its purest elements. ”
To celebrate the launch of this remarkable collaboration, both brands invite intrigued fans for a viewing in the Bel Etage, located one floor above Lunettes Kollektion’s Torstrasse boutique on 13 October. There, guests will have an opportunity to speak with the designers on the innovative line.
