Marques’Almeida Launch AW16 at Voo Store Berlin
Last night, Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida brought their AW16 collection for an exclusive launch at Berlin’s coolest boutique, Voo Store. The collection was presented in a custom canary yellow cube, installed bang in the middle of the concrete concept space. Berlin’s fashion crowd got up close and personal with the tactile pieces, including fur-lined mules and the exaggerated duvet coat.
The womenswear brand has become an established part of the London fashion scene, and a must-go show for every editor and buyer. SLEEK managed to speak to the designer duo as they flew in especially for the launch party, before rushing back to prepare for next month’s London Fashion Week. “We have a team of 16 people now, so it’s nice to actually be able to do the designing, rather than the accounting. I also love that our whole team is really young and creative, everyone has so many cool ideas” said Marta Marques. The relaxed yet fun attitude of the designers comes across in their bright, playful AW16 pieces, and we can’t wait to see what the hottest ticket at LFW has in-store for next season.
