Matt Lambert Directs Rick Owens in 2017's NSFW Anal Anthem

Once taboo, anal play has grown from being a topic relegated to your Sex and the City-style brunch with pals (shoutout to all the Mirandas) into a subject palatable enough for even your favourite radio friendly rap tune. (see: 2014’s summer hit “Post to Be” in which Jhene Aiko urges men to “eat the booty out like groceries”). Rarely, however, is a song so straightforward about its stance on sodomy. Enter “Butt Muscle”, the latest single from self-proclaimed “drag terrorist” Christeene.
Set to a droning techno buzz, the American musician echoes the words “booty muscle” in between verses that coo suggestions like “get your fucking saddle ’cause it’s time to ride the cattle.” It’s important to note the song’s role as more than an anal play anthem, though. It’s also a proud proclamation for the still-censored topic of queer sexuality, with Christeene telling Dazed, “Fuck the fear and vulnerability and start tapping into the enjoyment of [sexuality] and the exhilaration of it and the freedom of it.” Accompanying the track is a recently released music video starring the artist alongside fashion designer Rick Owens and his wife Michele Lamy. Directed by Berlin photographer Matt Lambert and shot in black and white, it’s a visually assaulting project filled with plenty of NSFW visuals including golden showers and double fisting dildos.
