Last Monday in Paris, Miuccia Prada presented her Resort 2017 collection. What better way to launch a collection inspired by 90s rave culture than to throw a party of her own? While Kate Moss took to the decks, model of the moment Adwoa Aboah and former Vogue Paris Editor-in-Chief Carine Roitfeld danced the night away in a lavish hotel. Although it was a far cry from the sweaty British basement raves of 20 years ago, it was certainly a wild night – done Miu Miu style.
The collection itself was a visual feast of colour and embellishment. In Prada’s typical ‘more is more’ aesthetic, iridescent parkas and bejewelled crop-tops were topped off with metallic bucket hats. When quizzed about the kaleidoscopic collection, Miuccia simply said “fun”, and returned to the party to practice what she preached.
