You know we love a fashion/masculinity crossover here at Sleek. Well that’s just the concept that inspired the designers behind upcoming menswear brand Common. The design duo Emma Hedlund and Saif Bakir originally hail from Sweden, but met while studying at Central Saint Martins in London. Scandinavian minimalism meets cool Brittania, what could be better for summer lounging?
For this collection, Common also incorporates in the third style location of New York, by collaborating with the Swedish-born, NYC-based graffiti artist Rubin, who adds slices of abstract, geometric prints. Perforations, mesh and drawstrings all give the collection a clear sportswear aesthetic, while the colour palette of dark grey marl and white with a pop of complementary orange and blue keeps it modern.
