All of the noteworthy 2020 Grammy looks

The music industry has always known how to turn a look—from Jennifer Lopez’s plunging green Versace dress that literally created Google Image search to a heavily pregnant Beyoncé taking the stage in a gilded goddess look by Peter Dundas, it’s always just as much about the visuals as the songs at the Grammys. And this year was no different. While the popularity of fringe and spurts gave us strong Old Town Road vibes there were also a few darker and edgier moments. Here are some of our favourites:

Billie Eilish

Although the 18-year-old songstress is known for her neon roots and preference for menswear, she added a nice formal suiting twist by coordinating her acid green hair with a Gucci blouse and matching monogrammed acrylic nails. Extra points for coordinating face-mask for cold and flu season.

Billy Porter

While we know that the Pose star won’t be showing up to any award ceremony in a plain black suit, Billy Porter managed to give us something unexpected. In a now-viral moment, Porter shows off the automated retracting diamante fringe curtain hat.

Ariana Grande

Disregarding antiquated rules about garment volume in proportion to height, Ariana Grande embraced big tulle energy in a smoky Giambattista Valli gown, almost four-times her size— complete with opera gloves, of course.

Lizzo

It has been the year of Lizzo, so it is only right that she took home three Grammys out of eight nominations. On the carpet, she seared pure glamour in a white corseted gown, complete with a fluffy stole and glittering nail art.

Lil Nas X

We will never get sick of the Old Town Road singer dressing like a cowboy—And especially not when he shows up in a head-to-toe fluorescent pink Versace suit, complete with bondage detailing, studs, scarves on each wrist and matching mesh top.
