OLOAPITREPS launched in 2015 at concept store, 127 Brick Lane, in Shoreditch with a full pink collection. Their inspiration had come from the Sapuers, a clique of sharply dressed African men who sport the colour to express male elegance, and it was a hit. The rose-hued line of fluffy shoes and tailored separates fast became popular with London’s fashion stylists. Yet, the designer behind the brand remains anonymous. They explain their reasons: “I would love to focus the importance to the clothes that are made, I’m not hiding, I just want the priority to be the clothing”. With today designers feeling the pressure to be the ‘face’ of their brand and post daily updates of their lunch and dogs alongside their collections, this is certainly a bold move. Here is a look at their SS’17 of one-off designs made of vintage T-shirts.
