Remember Rose Quartz and Serenity, the colours we were all obsessing over this past spring? Well, the business giant behind these two magnificent tones has just introduced an app that will empower designers and artists to engage with any colour on the go. PANTONE Studio allows you to find out the colour codes (Pantone, RGB, CMYK, HEX) of anything you find with the possibility to store all the details in a folder in your phone, computer or tablet.
Once you have captured or selected a colour, the app further enhances its applicability by allowing you to build and test colour palettes, share your work directly with design software and social media platforms — making the language of colour ever-present. As Pantone describes it, colour is the bridge that connects the things we love with the environment, and through this app this bridge will become a fundamental element to the human experience of browsing, discovering and managing colour.
We wonder, how will this impact the fashion and creative industries. Will seasonal colours become even more ephemeral, or will they last longer as more people have access to them?
