The editorial photo project Paradox of Goodness is inspired by Rutger Bregmann’s book Humankind: A Hopeful History. In one of the book’s chapters Bregmann addresses why good people do bad things and comes to the conclusion that humans oftentimes do not question themselves and their actions when they are the the belief of doing “good”. This exact belief and its resulting narrowmindedness is why humans are and have been very easy to manipulate and has led to horrible historical events.
Paradox of Goodness therefore urges people to look on the other side(s) of the coin, dice, hexagon to make sure that they are aware of the implications of their seemingly “good” actions.
