
In the midst of Paris Fashion Week, Søren Drastrup injected a gritty reality-check with the opening of his photography exhibition,Escapism. The Denmark-born Berliner has observed and captured the city’s unique inhabitants since 2012 on film. Drastrup’s images blur the lines between documentary, portrait and fashion photography, but always express authenticity.
Art curators, Le Salon showcased the artistic cohesion between Berlin and Paris. Since many French creatives moved to the German capital to live and work, they saw it necessary to present Berlin’s taboo-free attitude to a Parisian audience in an exhibition that lasted the week, and offered a refreshing break from the super-luxe shows for the weary fashion crowd.
