Last night, at the 10th edition of the prize as administered by the Guggenheim Foundation, Paul Chan was awarded $100,000 for his contribution to contemporary art. Equal parts activist and artist, Chan’s multidisciplinary practice expands into his experimental publishing press Badlands Unlimited. Chan has also been granted a solo exhibition at the Guggenheim scheduled for 2015, and will be featured in the Hugo Boss Prize 2014 catalogue alongside fellow finalists Sheela Gowda, Camille Henrot, Hassan Khan and Charline von Heyl.
