“22+1” by Viviana Druga & Tata Christiane
Over the course of two years, avant-garde and Berlin based designer, Tata Christiane, and photographer and performance artist, Viviana Druga, have privately hosted a series of photographic sessions that react the Tarot de Marseille – Major Arcana.
Inspired by the original, intricate art of tarot cards, Tata Christiane and Viviana Druga, use their own vision and interpretation to cast new light on a card game that dates back to the medieval era, for the series “22+1” Combining esoteric symbolism with injections of high fashion, innovative photo collage, and the use of theatrical models, “22+1” is a playful and psychological commentary on how tarot is seen today, as well as displaying the costume-yet-street appeal of Christiane’s fine designs.
Opening on November 1st 2013, at Art-House SOMOS, “22+1” will display itself as a life-size game, inviting the audience to become the performance, and potentially, see into their future.
