Ryan Lo signature camp flourishes were found in abundance at his SS’17 show at London Fashion Week. The collection featured his ever-present pink frills, but this time with a nod to his Hong Kong upbringing. The off-beat mix of 18th Century dress, Venetian clown make-up and metallic ruffles, were topped off with Napoleonic hats by millinery king Stephen Jones for a maximalist extravaganza, not seen the capital since the now-defunct British label Meadham Kirchoff.
Models meandered around tinsel curtains masterminded by fashion’s favourite set-designer, Gary Card as the front-row, which included Susie Bubble and Princess Julia, tried hard to absorb every element of Lo’s sugar-coated sensory explosion. Scroll through the images to see Sleek’s exclusive behind-the-scenes moments, captured on Polaroid film by Catherine Edwardina.
