Proenza Schouler AW ’16
The New York-based label Proenza Schouler has just revealed its latest ad campaign for Autumn Winter ’16. The brains behind the chicest brand in the US are duo Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez; however, the men enlisted the talents of an all-female team to create their campaign. Models Selena Forrest, Julia Bergshoeff and Alexa Peralta are captured by photographer Zoë Ghertner and styled by Marie Chaix.
The LA-shot campaign showcases the duo’s Frank Stella-inspired pieces with the models standing in varying positions upon ladders. “Themes of control and release in its many forms were explored, as were references that influenced the collection’s development, namely that of American art of the Sixties and Seventies,” Jack told WWD. “Mostly, however, the aim was to capture an attitude of complete individualism, strength and a celebration of diverse beauty that feels deeply relevant in today’s world,” said Hernandez. The industrial setting is juxtaposed with the soft sculptural silhouettes the brand has become known for. You can shop Proenza Schouler online here.
